Library and book group

We are blessed with a large and varied library. From fiction to biblical scholarship to languages to Holocaust history, you are sure to find something of interest. Better yet, you can browse the catalogue online.

Our book group meets in the synagogue library over coffee and croissants at 10am on the second Saturday every other month. Everybody is welcome: there is no requirement to read every book or come to every session, and we are always open to suggestions of titles

We read and discuss books from around the world that are of Jewish interest. The conversation is always lively and thought-provoking, sometimes challenging.

Books we have read so far include:

  • Jonathan Safran Foer’s Everything is Illuminated
  • Philip Roth’s American Pastoral
  • Howard Jacobson’s The Finkler Question
  • Linda Grant’s The Story of the Forest
