Festivals
We celebrate all Jewish festivals in our inclusive style combining Hebrew and English. If you’re not sure what to expect, come to an Exploring Judaism class beforehand!
Our High Holy Day services are especially popular so, if you’re not a member, it’s essential to book in advance. Some of us form a choir for these festivals: if you’d like to contribute your voice, please let us know!
But it’s not just services and prayer. We pride ourselves on catering to a wide range of different interests and tastes. Whether it’s a matzah ramble in Stanmer Park for Pesach or a cheese seder for Shavuot, or even making edible Torah scrolls for Simchat Torah, there’s always something for everyone.
You can view a calendar of Jewish festival dates for the coming year here.
We also mark Yom ha-Sho’ah (the Jewish day for remembering the Holocaust) and 7 October with memorial services, as well as holding an annual memorial service for the Jewish community of Frýdek-Místek, the town from which our Czech scroll comes.
