Welcome to Brighton and Hove Progressive Synagogue

Shalom and welcome! We are a thriving community with over 250 members located in Brighton and Hove and across Sussex.

Serving our congregants since 1935, our Hebrew name, Adat Shalom v’Rei’ut (Congregation of Peace and Friendship), expresses the values we live by and aspire to.

As part of Liberal Judaism, we are fully egalitarian, and all members – regardless of sex, gender or race – play a full and equal part in the life of our community. Non-Jewish partners and family members can all get involved.

We love receiving visitors, whether to services, adult education or social events. It doesn’t matter if you’re Jewish, Jew-ish, interested in becoming Jewish or resolutely non-Jewish. Please contact our office so we know to welcome you!
